Sail Stock

Our intention is to use the engine as little as possible, ideally only for entering and exiting ports.
Legato has a very simple configuration consisting of a large mainsail and a self-tacking jib. This works alright for medium or higher wind conditions, but for low wind conditions we need more sail area.
So we also have an asymetric spinnaker, which furls around an anti-torsion rope. This sails down to 150 TWA in wind conditions up to 20 kn (max 160 TWA and max 25 knots with extra care). In lighter wind conditions it can go up to 100 TWA.
For reaching in light wind conditions we have a high tech cable-less code zero sail that can go up to 70 TWA and easily adds 1-2 knots to boat speed. Due to its cable-less construction, loosening its halyard makes a big difference in trimming.
For Trade wind conditions we have a dual high-clew jib, one of which will be attached to a carbon whisker pole. For safety reasons this is designed to furl around the forestay (replacing the jib) rather than relying on an anti-torsion rope. Its high-clew profile allows it to not get caught in rough waves, gives better visibility at the helm, while it can also be used for reaching when both parts of it are unfurled on the same side.
For gale conditions we have a storm jib that is easily hoisted without removing the standard jib. We have also added two reefs on the mainsail, on top of the two reefs provided by the manufacturer.
All non-factory sails have been designed and developed by Quantum Sails - Greece.
